Printed Acoustic Panels: The Complete Guide

Printed acoustic panels do two jobs in one product: they absorb sound to make a room quieter and clearer, and they carry any image or pattern you like so the treatment looks like art. This guide covers what they are, how they perform, and how to choose.

What they are made of

Our panels are 1/2 inch PET acoustic felt - the wool-like material used across commercial interiors - made from about 60 percent recycled polyester and 100 percent recyclable. They are GREENGUARD Gold and UL 2818 certified for low chemical emissions, and Class A fire-rated.

How well they work

Sound absorption is rated by NRC. Our 1/2 inch panels test at NRC 0.55 mounted flat and up to 0.65 with a 1 inch air gap (ASTM C423) - enough to noticeably reduce echo in offices, studios, home theatres and dining rooms. See our NRC guide for what the number means.

Two panel formats

  • Seamless tiles (12x12, 24x24, 12x24) tile edge to edge so a pattern flows across a wall with no visible seams.
  • Canvas-like panels (36x24 up to 60x40) look like framed wall art.
